Citizen Participation Summit
07/11/2008 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A formalized Citizen Participation Process (CPP) that lies in the hands of the people can bridge the gap between citizens and government. A CPP can make sure that our city not just recovers, but recovers in a way that is most beneficial to its residents.

A formalized Citizen Participation Process should ensure that citizens have a strong role in helping city government truly represent our communities and our needs. It does so by establishing a mechanism which is accountable to the needs and desires of residents, and providing information and discussion about neighborhood issues before decisions are made. CPP is a process of organizing people on the neighborhood level with the goal of having direct impact on city government through a formalized relationship.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the Summit. Registration is required, but free and open to everyone. Childcare will be provided on site by Agenda for Children.
